SOATP Emporium Guidelines

The SOATP Emporium is designed to help the group as a whole, and individuals, achieve proper marketing and advertising as well as sales boosts for all.

We expect everyone involved in the emporium to work together, as well as for you.
There are a few rules that MUST be followed and will be enforced, pertaining to shops. They are as follows…

Only HANDMADE items will be allowed to be showcased/sold on your blogs. Patterns, craft supplies and store bought items are not allowed. You may alter an antique, such as an old chair that you have primly painted or an old window turned into a stained glass window, etc. Use your best judgment and if you are in questions, just ask.

You will be expected to participate in any goings on with the group blog. Giveaways, auctions, etc. You must be actively involved in your shop as well. This includes changing out old merchandise with new, marking items as sold, etc.

There is no limit as to how many items you can have in your shop. Items can be those that you also have listed on ebay, etsy, your website, etc. They do not have to be specific to your SOATP shop. Your “purchase” button will be linked to your email so your customer can email you, indicating they would like to purchase the item and you can send them a paypal invoice. Once it is purchased, you can end your auctions for the item sold.

You are expected to update your blog with at least one new item once a month. This should be done on the 14th of each month as we will advertise new items on the 15th of each month. Your customers will expect new items when they visit on the 15th so do not disappoint them. If you are unable to update, you will be required to display a logo indicating that you are away for the month and no other items will be displayed. Your break should not last more than one month.

Links to your website, personal blog, and any other selling sites (ebay, etsy, etc.)that you are on are permitted. However, you cannot link to other groups, group shops, or any other blog or site that is not SOATP associated unless it is yours or another SOATP Emporium members.

Please do not alter your shop template. Do not change the fonts, colors, HTML, etc. When you receive your shop, you will see that we already have a few things in place for you. These should NOT be removed or moved around your shop. Links should always be at the top followed by “About The Artist”. You will need to fill in the about the artist area. The right column with the Emporium shops list should not be altered and nothing else should be in the right side column.
If you are having a giveaway, you may post this in your shop. The giveaway can be on any of your personal sites or another SOATP members site. Please post giveaways in the left column.

Emporium rules and guidelines can change at any time and you will be notified of each change.
If you are found in violation of any of the rules stated above, you will have one week from the violation notification to correct the problem. If the problem is not correct, you may be in jeopardy of losing your shop.

If you find that you cannot follow through with the rules stated above, please do not sign up for a shop. We would like participants to be ready, willing and able to work together to gain popularity and increase sales.

SOATP Shop Setup Walkthrough

You should receive an email from soatpinfo@gmail.com with an invite to your shop. You will need to accept the invite. Once accepted, we will be able to go in and give you admin rights to your shop. If you already have a blog with blogger, you will see your new shop when you log in and you can access it right there with your personal blog if you have one.

STEP 1 - Fill in the blanks

Log into blogger. Once you are logged in, you should see your shop. you will first need to click on "Layout". On the left side of the screen you will see "artist links" about the artists, mailing list, etc.

You will need to fill out the "About the artist", Payment Options and shipping terms. All you will need to do for each is click on "edit" and type your information in the box provided then click "save".

STEP 2 - Post an item for sale

To post an item for sale, Click on the "posting" button. This will open up a new post.

For the title, type in the item you are selling. In the box provided is where you will type the information about your product for sale.

Add photos first then add your description. To add a photo, click on the little square box above the box you type in that looks like a tiny landscape picture. it will open a box and let you browse your computer to find your photos.

After photos are added, type the description of your product. Be sure to type in the price of the item at the end also. Once your photos and description are finished, copy the purchase code i sent in the previous email and paste it at the end of your description. click on "publish post" and your item will be finished.

STEP 3 - New post for each item

Please be sure to make a seperate post for each item you are selling (unless you have multiples of the same item). This makes it much easier to edit.

STEP 4 - What to do when your item sells

If your item sells, you can click on "edit posts" and find the post with the item you sold. click on "edit" and delete the purchase code at the bottom of the description. add a new photo using the button at the top (you will find the "sold" button) and insert it into your post. it will show at the top and you will just need to drag it to the bottom after your description.

If you need help with anything....feel free to contact auntmannys@aol.com. I would love to help guide you through it if needed. We want to make sure you are comfortable with setting up your shop.
